New Beastie Boys Album announced

The Beastie Boys will release their long-awaited next album on May 3, the band has confirmed.

Announcing the album on their website, Beastie Adam Yauch wrote, “Since the dawn of time, and perhaps even before, there was a silent order who were tasked with a mission. On May 3rd The Hot Sauce Committee Part Two will be unleashed on the general public. Hold fast ye heathens.”

If you’re wondering where The Hot Sauce Committee Part One is, it was originally due in September 2009. But it’s not yet finished, so the band decided to release its sequel first. This may be the first time a sequel has been released before its predecessor, unless you count the Star Wars trilogy or the Dumb & Dumber prequel.

The Hot Sauce Committee Part Two will include the 2009 Grammy-nominated single “Too Many Rappers” (with guest star Nas), “Don't Play No Game That I Can't Win” (with Santigold) and 14 other tracks.

The Hot Sauce Committee Part Two will be released by Capitol Records.
